How Experienced Feeders Actually Use It

Liquafat is used as a budget-friendly fat source to improve lower-body condition and soften harder-doing animals. It is often stacked with Sumo for a compounded fat effect, with Sumo providing milk-based palatability and Liquafat providing the pure oil volume. Also used as a top-dress to increase palatability and shine.

Real-World Feeding Rate

  • Typical rate: 1–2 oz/day for lambs mixed into feed
  • Introduction timeline: Can be started early in the program; introduce gradually

Phase Protocols

Weeks 8–6 | Condition Building Phase

Start at 1 oz/day for harder-doing animals that need lower-body cover. Increase based on condition response.

Weeks 5–3 | Fill & Shaping Phase

Continue at 1–2 oz/day. Evaluate lower-body cover; taper if condition is sufficient.

Weeks 2–1 | Final Prep Phase

Taper or discontinue as show approaches unless animal still needs lower-body fill. Transition to Game On for the freshness role.

Stacking Protocols

Pairs well with: Sumo (compounds fat effect; Sumo provides milk-fat bloom, Liquafat provides pure oil volume). Do not over-stack fat sources — total fat intake across supplements should be monitored.

Budget Alternatives

  • Soybean or corn oil (commodity) — nearly identical fat function at lower cost; lacks flax Omega-3 and coconut MCT benefits
