Sure Champ® Spark®
Concentrated Amaferm daily topdress for aggressive appetite stimulation and digestive efficiency — cleaner formula than Extreme, no ClariFly or HEAT technology
Always read and follow product labels for feeding and sheep safety.
Overview
Sure Champ® Spark® is BioZyme’s concentrated Amaferm daily pellet positioned as the simpler, more focused alternative to Sure Champ® Extreme. Where Extreme layers in HEAT technology, garlic oil, biotin, MOS, and optionally ClariFly on top of the Amaferm base, Spark strips back to Amaferm + MOS + biotin + zinc in a clean formula. BioZyme’s own guidance describes Spark as the choice when a more aggressive appetite response is needed without the additional functional layers of Extreme. Explicitly labeled safe for sheep and goats — copper is not a concern with this product.

How Experienced Feeders Actually Use It
Spark is chosen over Extreme when the feeder wants a clean, concentrated Amaferm hit without the full functional stack — particularly when the animal is already on separate products covering heat stress, fly control, or coat health. Also used when ClariFly is undesirable (some show organizations may scrutinize insect growth regulators). BioZyme’s own guidance positions Spark as the “when you want more appetite stimulation, less everything else” option.
Real-World Feeding Rate
- Typical rate: 4 oz/day for growing show lambs (over 40 lbs)
- Introduction timeline: Can be started at project beginning as a daily supplement

Phase Protocols
Weeks 12–9 | Foundation Phase
Introduce as a daily foundation supplement. Establishes gut health baseline and appetite stimulation early in the program.
Weeks 8–6 | Condition Building Phase
Continue at 4 oz/day. Consistent gut efficiency supports maximum utilization of conditioning supplements.
Weeks 5–3 | Fill & Shaping Phase
Continue. Appetite support is critical as conditioning demands increase.
Weeks 2–1 | Final Prep Phase
Continue daily.
Show Week (Days 5–1)
Continue. Particularly useful if animal goes off feed due to transport stress or pen changes.
Spark vs. Extreme — When to Choose Which
Per BioZyme’s own published guidance (surechamp.com/when-to-feed-spark-vs-extreme/):
- Choose Spark when you want aggressive appetite stimulation with a clean, simple formula; when you’re already running separate heat stress or fly control products; or when you prefer to avoid ClariFly.
- Choose Extreme when you want the full-stack daily supplement covering gut health, heat stress (HEAT technology), fly control (ClariFly), coat/hoof support (biotin, zinc, garlic), and appetite in one product.
- Both can be run simultaneously, but the added value of stacking them is limited since both are Amaferm-based — choose based on what secondary functions are needed.
Stacking Protocols
Stacks with all conditioning supplements. A background daily supplement that does not interfere with other products. If already running Extreme, adding Spark is likely redundant — choose one or the other.
Budget Alternatives
- Sure Champ® Extreme — same Amaferm base with added functional stack; comparable price
- Plain probiotic powder — lower cost but lacks the research-backed Amaferm prebiotic technology and palatability profile
